Dead People Make Us Humble

Trueman, the Great Reformed Bard, has a good little piece on Stott and his recent adulation, offered, in our oddly ironic way, posthumously. Trueman points to some of the theology of Stott that was a bit off (at least according to Trueman, but I didn't find myself disagreeing much). What did I take away from it? Well, after a long full life lived to the glory of God and the furtherance of his kingdom any old Cambridge scholar can come along and pick your theology all to pieces. Which means that someone will probably do that to you and I - assuming we ever rise to the level of eliciting any kind of scrutiny. Which means that right now, we aught to be humble. We might actually have got some things wrong.
